Dear friends,
As I write to you early this morning, I watch the sun rise over the mountains, the rain-soaked ground begins to steam, turning the valley into a sea of fog. Soon the fog will lift, and the sun will shine through. I’m grateful for mornings like this - fog giving way to light. It reminds me of the year Caprine was born.
The year was 2021. The world was in chaos. The pandemic had upended nearly everything, and I had just been diagnosed with cancer. Rachel and Sarah were navigating an uncertain university life, their plans for a semester abroad suddenly unclear. It was a season of fear and fog - nothing was certain and a cloud hung over everything.
But the sun can’t stay hidden forever. I came through cancer and am healthy today. Rachel and Sarah not only studied in England, they went on to study in France and Italy. And then graduated with honors.
In that fog, Caprine was born. It’s the three of us determined women: no staff, no marketing team, no shipping department - just three CEOs - Chief Everything Officers.
Yesterday, all that hard work was seen and appreciated. Caprine was recognized by sustainability advocate Nikki Reed in her list of favorite women-owned, environmentally responsible brands. Her words spoke straight to our hearts:

We’re deeply honored by her recognition and thankful to be included in a community that appreciates sustainability and authenticity. Like the sun finding its way through the fog, hard work being recognized brings a huge ray of sunshine to Caprine.
