What is Mohair?
Mohair is the luxurious fiber produced by angora goats. In silky ringlets, mohair is sheared twice a year in the spring and fall. Stronger than similarly sized steel with moisture wicking and temperature regulating properties, mohair is a super fiber.
Is mohair, wool?
No, Angora goats produce mohair. Sheep produce wool.
Do you sell yarn?
We do not at this time, but should we ever in the future, we will sell it through my daughter’s online shop: Pine Rose & Co. If you go to her website and sign up for the newsletter, you can stay updated on all things yarn!
How are your socks made?
Great question! We have a whole blog post dedicated to our supply chain and process behind each pair of Caprine socks. Read it here.
What does "Caprine" mean?
Caprine (kuh-preen) is the scientific name for goats.
Since we raise angora goats for mohair, this was the perfect brand name! Our horn logo is also symbolic of our goats. Did you know angoras have horns?
Recommended Care
Machine wash in cold water and line dry or tumble dry with no heat. Taking good care of your socks will increase their lifespan.
Do you offer wholesale?
We partner with select boutiques to carry our mohair socks. Wholesale catalog available upon request. Please contact Sarah at sarah@shopcaprine.com
Thank you!

Where is my order?
When your order is packaged and ready to ship, a shipping label is created. Each shipping label has a tracking number. You will receive an email with this number when your package starts its journey to you.
Once your package leaves Caprine, it is the responsibility of the post office to get it to you. Please use your tracking number to follow the route of your package. If the tracking history says it was delivered, but you don't have your package, please contact your local post office for help.
The post office has visibility to more information than is on the tracking history and we do not have access to that information.
When will my order ship?
You can expect your order to ship within 3 business days of it being placed, but we usually ship next day!
What is your policy on lost, damaged or stolen packages?
We are not responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen in the mail. If a shipment has been sent but is not received, please use the provided tracking number to track the package and contact the shipping service (USPS, UPS, FedEx) for additional information and/or to file a claim for the stolen item(s).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do!
